Keystone Habits

I’ll share my secret sauce for therapy with you.
(spoiler–it’s not really a secret)
As a solution-focused therapist, I try to help you find the path of least resistance while maximizing the impact and efficiency of your choices.
Here’s how I do it….
I focus on Keystone habits.
What the hell are Keystone habits?
Named after the topmost stone in an arch that locks all the other stones into place, they are fundamental habits that have a ripple effect into many other areas of your life.
They often lead to the development of other good habits which can transform your self-image and sense of what's possible.
Consider compound exercises in weight training….they focus on multiple muscles simultaneously, saving you time while increasing overall strength.
Plot Twist!
Eliminating unhealthy Keystone habits has the same ripple effect.
Here’s a personal example:
When I quit drinking, know what else happened?
Depression disappeared
Anxiety eliminated
No more mood swings
Self esteem rapidly improved
Fear became manageable
Guilt and shame lessened dramatically
Renewed interest in life
The best part?
The ripples came naturally which significantly reduced my need for ongoing support.
No more medication
No more therapy
It all started by eliminating the Keystone habit of drinking.
SFBT or Solution-Focused Brief Therapy empowers you to quickly identify existing solutions and build upon them to achieve your desired future, rather than dwelling on problems.
Do you want results or a narrative about how or why things became the way they are?
SFBT minimizes the time spent in therapy, or more importantly, the time spent struggling or suffering.
The life you desire is perfectly within your reach, but you have to take the leap.
If you’re ready to make some changes, let’s talk!
